WIP Wednesday

Because I'm working on a few gifts right now, this might not look like much, but I've been plugging away on several projects. I am also brewing some ideas for a big boy quilt for Daniel, as we're talking of moving him into a twin bed sometime.

Ongoing Projects:

Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along- These are new since my last WIP post, but not recent. I have 25 blocks total now.

1. 102- Whirlpool, 2. 111- Wrench, 3. 12- Broken Sugar Bowl, 4. 103- Whirlpool

Sew Mama Sew’s Modern BOM- Fortunately this block seemed to have a lot of much needed wiggle room.

Anna Rae’s Quilt- all the blocks are sewn, but it still needs a fair amount of work. Unfortunately, I can't show it off yet, perhaps next month.

In Color Order’s HST- April block is finished.

Finished:

Juice Box Quilt!

I timed how long it took Tommy and I to baste this quilt, and we came in right at 15 minutes! Hopefully that will be encouragement not to let my tops linger at that stage. I went with some simple straight line quilting so it would have lots of body and not get too stiff.

Not the greatest picture, but this is me showing it off at our guild's meeting last week.

Here are the first 20!!There are two I plan on redoing, (2,2) and (3,3) The color and size just isn't quite right.

     I have several more project I need to get working on, five I can think of off hand! These block of the month projects are so different for me. I'm used to seeing one thing all, or most of the way through before beginning a new project. After our last guild meeting, I'm beginning to think I'm the exception! I suppose it keeps things fresh this way, when I get tired of one thing, it's time to move to another. 

     Interestingly, I'm opposite in the rest of my life. I like to dabble here and there, and only finish things when I must. Like doing just enough dishes to keep them at bay. Or cleaning the bathroom just enough so I don't feel dirtier after washing up in it. Okay, maybe I'm not that bad! But I certainly get more sidetracked elsewhere in the house.

In other news I am planning on having a giveaway for my 250th post! It's about 3 posts away!!

WIP Wednesday

My friend Amy, (who blogs at Maker Mama) hosted a craft night on Friday and I was so excited to be in town for it! I worked on figuring out some math on a few farmer's wife blocks, and cut the fabric for about 6.

I really like how this one came out. And it's all fabric I bought from a gal at our guild!

This is where I started to realize I have lots of busy fabrics. Perhaps I should invest in some solids...

And here I realized that I really need to get some solids. This just has too much going on! I couldn't even sew it together.

I made these for my nephew using this tutorial.

And I made this for Tiffani's birthday using this great tutorial. I will defiantly make more of these!

Our Fort Worth Modern Quilt Guild is doing a block of the month, and I didn't care for the one slated for this month, so I chose this block instead.

The only thing I worked on this week was these little Farmer's Wife blocks. There are 111 in total, but I won't do them all. They finish at about 6.5 inches.
